OSUN DECIDES: INEC, NEW RERUN ELECTION DATE

The independent national electoral Committee [INEC] has fixed Thursday September 27,2018 as new date for a rerun election in Osun state. Elections will be conducted in 7 polling units. The independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared the Osun governorship elections as inconclusive because the number of cancelled votes was higher than the margin of winning between the two top candidates.The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Sen.Ademola Adeleke got 254, 698 votes while,Mr Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress garnered 254, 345 for the second place.According to INEC,the total numbers of voided votes was 3,498 from Orolu LGA, Ife South LGA , Ife North LGA and Osogbo LGA,hence,the declaration.
