There is every possibility that the police will not allow the nationwide protest planned by musician, Innocent Idibia, also known as Tuface to go on.
Tuface who said that rally is to protest the poor level of governance in the country, seems to be putting finishing touches to the protests slated to hold in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano.
“The people have hoped for a better Nigeria since 1999 but things are not getting any better for the majority. We are still where we are – poor and desperate. I will no longer be quiet”, he said.
Already a schedule of events, meeting points and routes the protest will follow has been released by the organisers.
Many Nigerians, including an array of celebrities and politicians, among them the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose have signified their intent to join the protest marches.
But the commissioner of police in Lagos State, Fatai Owoseni has hinted that the police will not allow the march go as planned, for fear that it might be hijacked by miscreants, who will use the opportunity to perpetuate evil intents.
